Hello, this is Ash! I'm the real human being behind the Boonta Weekly Review, and one of several behind the in-game faction, United Coalition of Boonta, within the award-winning (I assume?) spaceflight MMO Elite Dangerous. Yes, "Boonta" is a Star Wars reference - no, neither the faction nor the fansite are Star Wars projects. Boonta is part of the Communist Interstellar, a collection of in-game factions promoting and defending the "communist" government type in-game. I wanted to zoom in a bit on what life might look like for residents of our faction. "Weekly" is aspirational, but I do hope to add new articles fleshing out in-game events semi-regularly.

Many thanks to my squadmate Jimi, who's been with Boonta since the old days and was able to fill me in on lore from way back in the mid-2010s. My interpretation's a little loose, but I hope to keep with the spirit of the project.

Boonta Weekly Review has proudly served the Coalition of Boonta since 3306. After the fracture of the Yarruci Union, a small band of former communications officers approached the Coalition and offered our assistance to its people, securing a Public Interest Organization (Publication) charter. The Weekly Review found a home in the vibrant stations of HIP 81237, and maintains correspondents across the Boonta core worlds and the Communist Interstellar Union. As an approved GALNET partner, we collect and share accurate, timely information on galactic events in the public interest.

We acknowledge our obligations to the Coalition itself and to our readership. As such, we maintain editorial contact with Coalition representatives in order to maintain general coherence with Coalition messaging. We also assert final editorial independence under section 3(A) of the 3308 Transparency Order. We pledge to report galactic and local ongoings with integrity, accuracy, and pride.
